Job title:  Principal Investigator

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Chief and Deputy Chief Investigator, responsibilities include conducting complex and sensitive investigations involving allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, corruption, criminality, misconduct, and other illegal, unethical or improper activities relating to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and its affiliated agencies.

Duties Shall Include:

Leading and conducting assigned investigations and other assignments. Coordinating with attorneys to ensure that all pertinent data, evidence and investigative information has been obtained, documented and conveyed consistent with professional standards. Preparing comprehensive investigative memoranda and reports. Completion of all other duties and assignments.


A college degree plus five (5) years field experience, three (3) of which must have involved complex investigations, two (2) which were as a supervising or lead investigator of sophisticated criminal, corruption and fraud cases, or graduation from a senior high school or high school equivalency diploma plus ten (10) years field experience, five (5) of which must have involved complex investigations, three (3) of which were as a supervising or lead investigator of criminal, corruption and fraud cases or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to organize, direct and conduct complex investigations. Skills in undercover, surveillance and sophisticated investigative techniques and use of technical investigative equipment. Ability to evaluate and develop facts and information. Ability to develop a comprehensive case based on evidence, facts and various sources of information and testify at criminal and non-criminal proceedings. Good writing and oral communication skills. Proficiency and interest in forensic computer analysis desirable. Spanish speaking preferred
