Available Positions:


Job title:  IT Network Security Engineer
Starting Salary:  $60,364 - $81,768
Open & Closing Dates:  09/03/19 – 10/27/19
Agency:  Office of the Inspector General/Metropolitan Transportation Authority
Location:  New York City, New York
Hours:  Full-Time - 8:30am to 5:00pm (7.5 hours/day)

Summary:

This position will perform a combination of security design and implementation work, as well as security testing and implementation of new products or enhancements to current products. This position will also conduct system penetration and vulnerability testing and reporting. This position is responsible for the support of the production environment which ensures the appropriate security policies and practices are implemented and enforced.

Responsibilities:

Design, configure, implement and maintain all security platforms and their associated software, such as routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection/intrusion prevention, anti-virus, cryptography systems, SIEM, Anti-SPAM, and MDM. Design, review and conduct ongoing assessment of firewall, intrusion detection/intrusion prevention, SIEM, VPN, SSL, application control, Antivirus, and other network component policies. Daily triage and update/resolution of tickets generated by CRM ticketing system and respond to inbound phone and electronic requests for technical assistance. Ensure network security best practices are implemented through auditing: router, switch, firewall configurations, change control, and monitoring. Provide periodic vulnerability testing, and lead remediation projects. Formulate systems and methodologies as well as respond to security related events and assist in remediation efforts. Coordinate and monitor log analysis for our managed services offerings, to ensure customer policy and security requirements are met. Follow project management methodology and demonstrate best-practices in network documentation as required. Manage all client situations in a professional and courteous business manner with an emphasis on customer satisfaction, while timely keeping the customer abreast of expectations, problem status and completion.

Qualifications:

1. Preferred professional certification include; FCNSP, CCNP, CISSP, SSCP,CEH, GIAC, Security + , OSCP.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science preferred and a minimum of 5 years experience in Networking/Security.
3. Minimum of four years’ experience with information technology.
4. Minimum of two years’ experience with information technology security.
5. Excellent communication skills and experience working in a collaborative environment.

Desired Skills

Knowledge of security network devices (firewalls, switches, SIEM, Antivirus, cryptography, etc.) and other security networking hardware/software tools. Demonstrated understanding of information security concepts, standards, practices, including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion prevention and detection, TCP/IP and related protocols, device monitoring and log management and event monitoring/reporting Experience in LAN and WAN technologies, network design, network management etc. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, and access control lists, firewalls, VPN, NAT and network traffic analysis. Strong organizational skill and be able to attend to and prioritize projects. Demonstrable analytical and technical aptitude with focus on identifying and alleviating the root cause of the issue; solves the whole problem. Proven ability to thrive and respond to frequent demands of multiple constituents, both internal and external, in a customer centric manner and high demand environment.


Job title:  Performance Monitor/Analyst
Starting Salary:  $60,364 - $75,455
Open & Closing Dates:  9/13/19 – 10/13/19
Agency:  Office of the Inspector General/Metropolitan Transportation Authority
Location:  New York City, New York
Hours:  Full-Time - 9:00am to 5:30pm (7.5 hours/day)

Responsibilities:

Seeking an individual to evaluate MTA initiatives using qualitative and quantitative methods, monitor organizational performance metrics to assess the timeliness, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of agency actions; Work closely with OIG staff members to plan and conduct projects; Gather data by interviewing personnel, reviewing records, observing operations, and analyzing databases and dashboards; Prepare clear reports that highlight areas showing progress and areas of concern.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), in fields such as public administration, organizational development, business administration, political science, or the social sciences,
2. Minimum of three years of relevant work experience.

Desired Skills:

Demonstrated analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and research aptitude.
Excellent oral skills for conducting interviews and briefing officials on the results of analysis. Interviewing experience a plus.
Strong writing skills for documenting interviews, summarizing evaluation findings, and drafting reports.
Proficiency in Excel and other MS applications. Familiarity with Access, Tableau, or other data-analysis programs a plus.
Ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining careful attention to detail and accuracy.
Project management experience a plus.
