Pei Pei Cheng-de Castro serves as the Executive Deputy Inspector General for Legal.
Ms. Cheng-de Castro comes to the Office of the MTA Inspector General from over 6 years at the New York State Joint Commission on Public Ethics as Deputy Counsel and the Director of Investigations and Enforcement. Prior to that, she was a Partner at a boutique Manhattan law firm, where she practiced criminal defense, commercial litigation, and served as counsel to various corporations.
Additionally, Ms. Cheng-de Castro co-founded a charter school, Central Queens Academy Charter School, serving immigrant and underprivileged youth. She currently teaches Legal Writing at Fordham Law School and formerly taught legal writing and drafting litigation at New York Law School.
Ms. Cheng-de Castro received her JD from New York Law School and her BA from the University of California at Berkeley. She is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and New York State.
